Claire Elise Boucher is a Canadian musician and singer from Canada. Her early work can be called "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4that draws inspiration from hip-hop and electronic music, as well as rock. Her lyrics frequently address gender issues and science fiction. Grimes has recorded five albums. Grimes was raised in Vancouver then moved to Montreal. She began her independent career in the latter part of the decade. In 2010, she dropped two albums on Arbutus Records, Geidi Primes (and Halfaxa), respectively. After that, she was signed to 4AD and gained notoriety following the release of the third album of her studio, Visions which came out in the year 2012. Visions includes the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion", and was given the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Art Angels, her fourth studio album, debuted in the year 2015. Several publications called it the most successful album. The fifth studio album Miss Anthropocene, was out in 2020. Grimes is also a judge in Alter Ego, a music contest. She was a part of the Cyberpunk 2077 2020 role-playing game.
