Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She competes currently within the UFC Flyweight division. She is also the older sister of the former UFC Flyweight champion and co- UFC competitor Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko, who is a Muay Thai kickboxer, began her career in fight sport at her first IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was victorious in this event with a unanimous victory over Suzane Miller. Antonina was awarded a medal of silver in 2007, she also won a bronze medal in 2008 and a medal with gold in 2011. Antonina was also named IFMA World Amateur Muaythai Champion 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia began her professional journey when she was in the year 2003. She has won several titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Champion, Lion Fight Lightweight Championships, as well as the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina last fought against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas, in the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shychenko's professional MMA debut was in 2002 at the KFK Championship in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She was victorious in the second round by TKO and also won her subsequent 2-fights at WXF: X-Impact World Championships 2003 to amass an overall record of three-three. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged absence in MMA. She was back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a unanimous verdict and defeated Valerie Domergue on Phoenix FC 4 in 2017. In 2018, she resigned from the competition and began competing in Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's superior strike skills let her TKO Nievera via knees in the body. In the aftermath of this victory, Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina Shevchenko was able to make her UFC debut in the TUF Heavy Hitters Finale against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was victorious in the unanimous decision, but fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi via the split decision. Antonina recovered from the loss to beat Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the extra fight of the evening for this bout. Shevchenko had a win in her first three bouts, but lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina was recently knocked out by KO in the second round, losing to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
